Hyperdimension Neptunia is a successful series of Playstation exclusive JRPGs developed by Idea Factory and Compile Heart, and published by a plethora of companies around the world. The games are a satirical personification of the Console Wars and the Video Game industry as a whole, taking place in the fiction world of "Gameindustri", where the four Goddesses (representing the Sega Neptune, Playstation, Nintendo and Xbox) rule over the people, fighting the evil of the piracy group known as Arfoire. The games include numerous cameos and references to various game characters and creators- characters like Mario and Segata Sanshiro can be encountered and talked to, while the Space Invader aliens and Tetris blocks appear as enemies. Famous creator Keiji Inafune even apppears in multiple games as a summon.
